  1. Help: manufacturercodes                                             17.03.93
  2. Net-Control gives you the possibility, to show the names
  3. of the manufacturers of the ethernet boards. These are
  4. identified at hand of the first three bytes of the ethernet
  5. hardware address.
  6.  
  7. For the assignment between this manufactureraddresscode and
  8. the name Net-Control requires a special file with all codes and
  9. names (Filename: ⌠HERSTELL.SDF⌡). In this file the manufacturers
  10. are listed line by line in the following format:

  12. <adresscode_hexadezimal> <manufacturer name>
  13. (6 characters)           (maximum 6 characters)
  14. e.g.:  "0000FB RzK".
  15. The entries must be sorted for the addresscodes, otherwise
  16. you get a corresponding fault message.

  18. Within the menus of Net-Control the current list of manufacturer
  19. names can by shown by ⌠<Alt>-<A>⌡.

  21. The names are shown in two cases:
  22. 1. In the hitlists of the most active manufacturers.
  23. 2. By ⌠<Alt>-<C>⌡ you toggle between showing the
  24.    manufacturer names or the first three addressbytes for
  25.    ≤all lists of hardware addresses≥.
